My Sunday Special blog posts include my spending report, life and blog related news and updates on any challenges I set myself to accomplish. I try to post them every Sunday to review my week.
Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a fantastic weekend.
Gosh, how time flies. It seems like only yesterday I handed in my one month’s notice to end my current tenancy agreement. Well, today is my moving day.
I have packed, cleaned my flat and I am ready to go. Some of you may know that I am moving in with my sister for a little while to give me enough time to look for a perfect place to move into. Apart from one suitcase that I am taking with me to my sister’s flat, I am leaving everything else with my flatmate in my now “old” flat. Once I find a new place to live (hopefully, within the next few weeks) I will come back to pick up the rest of my things. We all agreed that there was no point in moving everything across the city to only come back in a few weeks’ time and move across the road from my old place since I am looking to stay locally.
The next two weeks are going to be pretty hectic. I have not arranged any viewings yet but I will start tomorrow since I am off work until Tuesday. I don’t think I will have much time left for blogging and for this I would like to apologise in advance. If you notice I am not around, it doesn’t mean I have abandoned this blog, it simply means I am working hard to find a perfect place for me to live, and since I have lowered my housing budget by quite a bit, this is going to take time. I will do my best to keep my blog updated and read other blogs that I love so much!
After the whole day of packing and cleaning yesterday, my sister and I went out for a meal. Since I have undying love for Italy and Italian food, I took my sister to one of my favourite pizzerias in Bayswater. Arancina is a traditional Sicilian pizzeria and the food is to die for (they serve everything from arancini to cannoli). The staff is Italian and since they speak Italian to each other I always feel like I’m in Italy. The atmosphere is great and the menu is fairly inexpensive. We shared one big vegetarian pizza (paletta size which is big enough to share and find yourself full), had a glass of chinotto each, and grabbed two cannoli to go, and our total bill came to just under £20 for the two of us including service. We went for a walk afterwards, and walked all the way to Green Park chatting about travelling and our plans for the future. Best Saturday night ever!
MY SPENDING RECAP
Here is this week’s spending report –
Monday, 16 September
no spend day
Tuesday, 17 September
Wednesday, 18 September
no spend day
Thursday, 19 September
Friday, 20 September
Saturday, 21 September
Sunday, 22 September
no spend day
I have not done my usual grocery shopping today since I have been busy moving. I will probably do it tomorrow.
I have made an extra £21 this week, bringing my total extra income to £181 in September. I am really glad I can bring at least this extra money in, as every little helps. I could probably work harder in the extra income department but truth be told I don’t want to push myself over the edge. It has only been 4 months since I started my journey to debt freedom and I feel that I have come a long way by changing my lifestyle and altering my spending habits. I am content with how things are going at the moment, and I will work harder to bring extra money in, but not now. So far, I am happy with an extra £200 each month.
How is your weekend going? Are you on track with your spending?
