I hope you have been keeping well!
It has been a while since my last post back in August last year.
There have been some significant changes in my life which made me decide to stop blogging last year and I do feel I owe you an explanation.
The thing is… I met someone, and we fell in love. I was spending all my free time with him (I still do, but we live together now so it’s a little different I guess) and had no time to do much else.
As for my debt, I received a lump sum of just over £3k back in November last year. To keep a long story short I will just say I added a bit to it and put just under £5k towards my remaining debt wiping it out completely. I became debt free in December 2014.
I have to admit I am very proud of my success! Fighting debt is not easy and it does require a lot of patience and discipline, but it can be done! My partner does not have (and has never had) debt but I was honest with him from the start so he knows the whole story.
My partner and I combined our finances back in December last year and started to save for a house deposit. We do have a budget in place (yep, this was totally my idea 🙂 ) which works for us. We also travel quite a bit. One day I will share our monthly budget on this blog (I should rather say my portion of the budget and contributions to our future) along with our financial goals. Reading other personal finance blogs and sharing my own progress helps me stay focused and motivated on my own journey so I do hope to return to this sometime soon.
In the meantime, I wish you all a very productive and prosperous March! I’d really love to hear from you so if you wish to share your news, please use the comments box below.
