The Perfect Tuscan Getaway

Firenze4

Happy Monday, blogging friends! First of all, I would like to thank those of you who took the time to comment on my previous post or send a private message. I was touched, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. I haven’t been writing on the blog for quite a while. Truth be told, I felt uninspired and lost for words. I didn’t have much to say so I chose not to say anything at all. When I got back to London after my Dad’s funeral in my hometown, I was keeping myself to myself and apart from […]

Carnevale di Venezia 2014

venice carnival

My trip to Venice was not exactly planned. Back in February, my friend called and asked if I wanted to go to Venice for the last weekend of the Carnival… in less than three weeks. I immediately agreed. My trip to Venice during Carnevale di Venezia last year was so amazing, I knew I wanted to go again. I had money to go but I have to admit I was a little hesitant. Wouldn’t it be wiser to throw this cash on debt repayment instead? Or save? I admit to having these thoughts rush through my head, but I knew […]

My Trip to Istanbul with Photos and Spending Report

Turkish Spices

I am now officially 30 years old! 🙂 I came back from Istanbul yesterday where I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday. I spent 5 days/4 nights in this beautiful city. Today, I will share a couple of photos from my trip along with my Istanbul spending report. These numbers are not conclusive. I had plenty of spending money while away (birthday gifts from family) but since I had quite an expensive birthday dinner to fund along with an after party at one of Istanbul’s rooftop bars, I managed to not only spend but overspend. I mean, I had this […]

My Only Vice

Venice Carnival

I tried. I really did. I tried to stay away from travelling and focus entirely on debt repayment instead. My trip to South America got cancelled due to some unforeseen circumstances (maybe, just maybe, it is not such a good idea to be buying plane tickets eight months ahead of travel after all?) and I seriously considered forgetting about travelling until at least summer time. Easier said than done. It is not a secret that I love to travel. There is nothing in the world I’d rather be doing. Well… almost nothing 😉 I was seriously considering giving my birthday […]

Ljubljana and Zagreb: Photos and Budget Update

Travel 454

Hello, friends! I am back in London! 😛 I do apologise for the lack of personal finance posts lately, but I think it’s okay to take a little break and not think about personal finance for a while. I hope you agree! So today, I will share some photos from my trip with you and to make it personal finance relevant, I will also post my travel budget update. Yes, the final numbers are in! 😉 LJUBLJANA, November 2013 Let me start by saying, I loved Ljubljana! It’s very small and the main sights can be easily reached on foot. […]

Ljubljana and Zagreb: My Travel Budget

I am writing this post from the comfort of my massive hotel bed. My flight to Ljubljana leaves early in the morning and instead of travelling to the airport in the middle of the night, I chose to book an overnight accommodation two minutes away from the main terminal building. Having redeemed some of the points I have been collecting, I only had to pay £37 for my accommodation in cash. The hotel is great and although I could have saved money by getting to the airport in the middle of the night, I don’t regret my decision for a […]
