How I Paid Off £14,000 in Debt in 18 Months

How I Paid off £14,000 in Debt in 18 Months

Ever since I decided to pay off my debts once and for all and ever since I began blogging about it, I have been dreaming of writing this blog post. I may be a little late writing this since I became debt free in December 2014, but I feel I owe it to this blog to look back and wave my debt one final goodbye. After all, it has been quite a journey… WAKE-UP CALL Back in May 2013, upon returning from my holiday in Spain where I spent my last penny, I found myself in exactly £13,830 worth of […]

Five Months to Debt Freedom.

Debt Freedom

Happy Sunday, blogging friends! It’s hard to believe it’s August already! Remember my dream goal of becoming debt free by 31st December 2014? Yeah, about that… I am a little freaked out as you can imagine because it seems that I have only got five months left to pay off my remaining debt! It is going to be challenging, to say the least, but I am fairly certain that if I stay focused and determined, there is a good chance I will be able to reach my goal. I have created a little chart with estimated monthly payments towards my […]

June 2014 Debt Repayment Update

Debt Repayment Update

Has it really been nearly a month since I last posted on the blog? I cannot believe it has been that long! July has so far been an extremely busy month for me, both at work and in my personal life. Work has been non-stop. My weekends were quite busy too. I got to go to Brussels for work and Paris with some friends of mine. Both trips were awesome and I am a little sad I won’t be going anywhere any time soon. I still  have not posted my end of June debt repayment update but since it is […]

May 2014 Debt Repayment Update

Debt Repayment Update

Happy Thursday! 😛 This is my 11th debt repayment update. It’s hard to believe I’ve been making overpayments towards my debt for nearly a year now, it certainly feels as if I’ve been doing this for much longer! I made my first overpayment in July last year and have since paid off a substantial amount of debt. May has been an expensive month for me. I had to go back home unexpectedly at the end of April and took a short trip to Tuscany in May. I have also changed my plans and instead of going to Croatia at the […]

April 2014 Debt Repayment Update

Debt Repayment Update

It has been a while since my last post. Just under two weeks ago I received the most devastating news. My father has passed away unexpectedly. Naturally, I flew back home the following day to be with my family and our family’s friends. I am not going to write anything else about my Dad’s passing, it hurts too much and there are no words to explain how lost I feel… I will, however write about financial implications an emergency like this can cause. I have always been a believer that if you are aggressively paying off your debt, you should […]

March 2014 Debt Repayment Update

Debt Repayment Update

I was really  looking forward to my payday in March. I wasn’t very impressed with my January and February debt repayment progress since my focus had shifted slightly. I was still making over payments, but in my eyes it was not nearly enough. This is the reason why I could not wait to get paid and throw as much cash on my debt as possible. My spending in March was a bit out of control. Although I tried to keep it to the very minimum, I am a little sad to admit that I failed miserably. I didn’t spend a […]
